Yes, I made them totally.
I had seen a similar one in a magazine but for like almost $3000. I changed the design around a bit and went for it! and made them for less than a 10th of the price I had seen it for!
It was definitley a lot of work though- if you really want all the info and steps-let me know.
I would really love info too! Would you mind fm'ing me? I want to make mine also and those are beautiful! Were they expensive to make? Thanks so much! You did an awesome job! :o) I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
just FMed u!!

Re: PICS as promised of my invites! (now with the directions you all asked for!)
Since so many are asking for directions, and details-Here you go!
Well my original budget was for $150 but with all the ribbon we ended up using-it cost under $240 without postage, which if you ask me is still way cheap!
Folding the invites was probably one of the hardest parts-lol- but this is how we did it... you need a really good ruler(with those 10th markings) we measured 3.7',3.7', and 3.6', I think. The last one (which fold in first) has to be slightly shorter or the paper will bunch. We used a bone folder to score the paper (you can find it in Michaels or Staples-I think I got mine at Michaels for like $6-it sorta looks like an envelope opener) We put measuring dots on the bottom and tops of the paper to make it align evenly.
I'll tell you where I got everything and what I got.
I bought cardstock at Kinkos for the card and the rsvp postcards, hotel inserts, and direction inserts. Its cheaper to buy a whole ream even thought you dont use it all.
I can send you the layouts for all the inserts to help you out (anyone who is interested-FM me). I printed the hotel and rsvps at my house and the directions at kinkos. Word of advise: it was a real pain in the a$$ to get the directions cards to line up for the 2 sided copies.
I bought the charms on a website (but most probably dont need charms) and come to think of it that was $75 of my budget-so no charms = cheaper price
Then we bought the vellum at Pearl Paint. I can send you the layout for that too-b/c that was a pain in the butt to figure out. We did 3 to a page, cut some off the bottom so its a tiny bit smaller than the card.
I pretty much bought all my ribbon at Joannes but some at Michaels and some special ordered. the ribbon was the biggest problem b/c they kept running out. I used 3/8' Offray ribbon-they have almost every color imaginable and if they dont have it-check out theribbonlady.com and order from them. The outter ribbon was 7/8' Offray. I cant even remember how many yards I used for each but will figure it out later for you,if you want. but it was somewhat around 150 probably!
If your gonna do a charm let me know b/c I am gonna leave out that step.
I measured the ribbon around each of the 3 different cards, pinned, then sewed 2-3 stitches in each. Inserted the cards back in and glued them all on and all lined up.
The glue I used was fabric craft glue- It has to say good for ribbons. I used a paint brush to put the glue on a thin layer so it didnt leak out and stick to the paper (b/c remember they have to slide out).
When we measured the vellum paper, we sort of put 2 x s where the holes had to be punched and traced that spot on all.
So then we lined the vellum on the invite and punched holes where the x was. I cant remember the size of the hole puch-it wasnt the standard size -it was the 2nd to smallest, I think ( I can get that for you too later)
Then we measured ribbon for the bows and pulled them through the holes and tied a bow. (i made the ribbon very very slightly bigger than needed b/c when you pull it through it frays-then we cut after the bow was made in a diagnal (sp?) line.
Make sure when you are glueing the stuff on you fold the paper right, I smaller side goes in first, remember, and thats the side with the directions and hotel cards.
The outside ribbon: we measured and cut and then glued then closed over the closed card. Again with a paintbrush so the glue did seap out or show through (use a very thin layer)
Oh we used an exacto knife to cut all the paper -I was nervous to use a paper cutter. Especially for the vellum I would use the exacto.
And thats it!! LOL
Its a lot - seriously!
Dont be a fraid to ask a million questions.
