I am getting married at St. Christopher's in Baldwin and they do not allow you to throw anything (rice, birdseed, rose petals). The only thing they allow is bubbles. Someone had mentioned doing the balloon release but I have never seen that before. Does anyone have any pictures so I can see what it looks like?

Re: Pics of balloon release????
You should never release balloons into the air. Animals end up eating them and die.
I hate to agree about the balloon release killing animals.... but it is the truth and you are quite close to the water.

I agree. I think they look cool, but animals die from eating the pieces and also birds can get their beaks caught on the pieces (and thus can't eat).

I feel bad about the animals but I have to admit I would have done it if I knew about it. I think it looks so pretty and is unique

I thought about doing the same thing...but then i heard about the animals and decided not to. Also, i heard you need a permit to release a large amounts like that!!!! So there goes that idea!

I feel so bad for the animals, please don't do a balloon release!! It's so bad for the environment!!!
We made ribbon wands and then attached bells at the end.
bubbles and/or wands look much better anyway! balloons are kind of cheesy

Re: Pics of balloon release????
This is horrible for the environment and to our animals around us...
There are so many other options to choose from.
Good luck!

Re: Pics of balloon release????
I went to a few weddings in the early to mid 90's and this was big. I didn't like it then and don't like it now. These girls are right it is very dangerous for the animals. JMHO

Re: Pics of balloon release????
I agree balloons are not the way I would go personally, but I was told that there is an allowable limit of how many balloons that can be released. I didn't really investigate it though, because it was not an option for me. I'm sure you can find some info on it on the internet if you Google it. Good luck!
