She'd had spinal tumors removed. We're trying to think of a great lie to tell people this summer at the beach as to how she got it

My DH had 10% of his lung removed. He has 3 scares on his back and side. When people ask he tells them He got into a fight at a bar cause some guy looked at me. But don't feel bad for him cause the other guy looked worse

Aw, I hope she is feeling ok! Can she even go in the sun this summer - I would think it would scar if she did so soon after.

You guys - thank you so much for your well wishes. She's doing GREAT. The pain those damned things were causing her was so much worse than that scar. My sister is awesome - and her sense of humor is a bit warped, so she's going to enjoy people asking her about her scar....
Again, thank you - I'm continually amazed at how caring everyone on these boards is....

OMG That poor girl!! Im sure the scar wont be that bad. Make sure she puts TONS of cocoa butter on it when it starts to heal. IT WORKS WONDERS!!!
When I first looked at it I thought it was one of those piercings people get that look like a corset (yea i know, theres only ONE line down the back... but i just woke up LOL)

wow!!!
a friend of mine has a similar scar (same length, same spot) from numerous back surgeries. she used to be very self conscious, but now wears it like a badge of honor b/c she went to he11 and back from it. much luck to your sister!!!

i had surgery on my spine years ago but they used dissolving stitched..my scar is visible but it fades away with time
