So looking at my timeline for the wedding I am going to have a little but of extra time in between the church (which is in Throggs Neck in the Bronx - literally right near the bridge) and The Riviera in Massapequa. I was wondering if anyone can suggest any nice places enroute to take pictures with the WP before we get to the RH to take pics with the family.
Have you spoken to your photog? It might not be as much time as you think. That's a loooooooong ride between the two locations. I assumed I'd have enough time to go to a separate location and was even a little concerned as to what to do with the guests in the meantime, but my photog assured me that things won't be running as quickly as I think. I'm going to be doing 'day-after' pics at a second location with FH- no WP. We're trying to get WP photos done before the ceremony.
Theres a park near the Whitestone bridge that is really nice and also on the Cross Island pkwy theres a park.
I was thinking of doing something there because it has somewhat of a significance...
FI is from Queens, I'm from the Bronx and it would be cool to take some shots with the bridge in the background... i just don't know if permits are involved.
Fort-Totten and Little Bay Park under the Throggs Neck Bridge. Hopefully by 2011 they will be finished with construction on the bridge though- that fire really distroyed it. There is also a Pond opposite the Marina on the Cross island pkway that used to be nice but I havent been there in a while.

thanks for the suggestions! I know the bridge did get pretty destroyed... with the time this city takes to fix things it will probably still look like that in 2011!
tahts throggs neck bride. whitetsone bridge is fine. brides always take pix there. u dont need a permit. u just go. its a park and the backdrop is the whitestone bridge.
Yeah the city does take forever to fix things around here- but they are always doing work on the whitestone bridge too. Being that you wont need a permit- maybe you should wait a little longer to decide.
There is also Bowne park that has a pond and shooting water fountains in it. There are ducks in the water too. part of it is a regular park with a Bacci court and swings- but its pretty big there.

hahah we were going to do the same thing but our schedule is tight so we can't do it. I don't think you do need any permits because i saw a couple taking pics at the Queens park.Theres a park on the Bronx side as well that is bigger than the one on the Queens side. The one on the Bronx has amazing views of the water.

I know exactly which one you are talking about... I'm thinking I might use that bone because it will be easier with the parking.

Right next to the parking lot, there is a rocky area leading out to the water. People fish off of it, but it would be a unique place for pictures (be careful with your high-heels). The only thing that worries me is parking on the queens side... is there a parking lot for this area?
