Picture Locations near CLM

I'm not from Suffolk or Southern Long Island so I was wondering if any of you girls can name some parks or good photo locations I can use near CLM.

I want to start scouting some locations

Argyle Beach is right up the road and there's also Oakdale Arboretum, which is pretty close as well. I booked with Bob from Velvet Studios, who is a house vendor for CLM, and he gave me those suggestions. I've scouted both and they're very beautiful.

not sure about where to take pics...my photog suggested some arborteum, not sure where it is. sorry can't help!

Thanks!! I haven't looked into the vendors yet but I am definately going to check them out. I just wonder how pricey they may be. Sometimes it doesn't pay to use their vendors just so they eat for free.

Definitely don't choose a vendor just because they eat for free. You are really only saving like $100 tops for house vendors. But I definitely recommend Velvet Studios. Bob is awesome and he knows his stuff. I am really happy choosing him. He will work within your budget too.

I cant help with locations because I'm from Queens and am taking pics in Queens prior to heading for CLM.

About the vendors, shop around. We were going to use all the vendors just to save money. HOWEVER, FM entertainment is sooo much cheaper than Unlimited. I've had issues with some of the other vendors there as well. Booked and cancelled. SO my advice is shop around. Yeah you are saving money on their plate, but it may be monetary to what you would save on some one else's package.

We took pics at SUNY Farmingdale they have a horticulture garden there. It really is very pretty and there was alot of good pic spots. Plus, I don't think its used very often. Besides the day of my wedding, I went there 2 other times and I was the only person there.

I used Duet who are always house vendors and they were GREAT the day of my wedding. I have not seen the pictures yet because only got married 6 days ago. We took our pictures at Venetian Shores right up the road. Nick told me about that place. We had a perfect Sept. day! CLM was amazing to work with!

There is:
Argyle (Can be crowded and dirty)
Venetian Shores
Belmont Lake State Park (which TP says is the best)
Pearsall Park (off of Montauk Hwy, on Bayview Ave in Amityville)

the arboretum he was talking about is probably the bayard cutting arboretum in oakdale..it is so beautiful there..but there is a site fee to take pics there..if u drive up their on a sat afternoon u will see so many people taking pics there..its so nice

i'd go with argyle or belmont. oakdale is too far to go from CLM.

I definately know there is not site fee for Pearsall Park in Amityville. I also do not think there is one for Belmont. Depending on what time of the year, and time of day you are taking pictures, you are going to have to pay to get on the beach at Venetian Shores (per car load).

I live like 2 streets away from CLM so if anyone has more questions let me know!

You can go all the way down Venetian Blvd or Granada parkway and you will hit it. Its a few blocks away from CLM.
