Picture locations... North shore, eastern LI

Eek! i wanted golf course pictures, b/c I am in LOVE with this photo, and how it looks. Turns out- nope- can't take pic son the Hamlet course, b/c golf will be in session (DUH!). Does anyone have any other suggestions? Maybe a large manor or garden or something?
We will be stopping by a beach in Mount Sinai as well.
TIA!

Or are there any vinyards not so far east? It is Labor Day weekend, I can only imagine the traffic...

have you tried emailing the pic to your photographer? maybe they have some suggestions for re-creating it.

There's a golf course in Stony Brook/Setauket along Lower Sheep Pasture that you could contact! I know there is a club house there.

Isn't there a golf course up in Belle Terre?

Thanks ladies... I never thought of just poaching on a golf course!!!
I know I am not really 'recreating' this pic, I just love the field, the way the location looks..

I don't get it. Why does golf being in season mean you can't take pics at the Hamlet?? Did they say that?? I did my e-pics on a golf course during golf season. You just have to watch out for those little balls flying through the air.

It's a public course on the North shore so it qualifies for your question - Crab Meadow Golf Course - but there is also Sunken Meadow State Park Golf Course on the north shore.

hey HWC bride. we're doing pictures at this little park behind the setauket post office (don't ask how i found it). they don't have a field like that picture exactly, but they have this stone mill and bridge and a little pond with swans. good luck!

this makes no sense to me as well... did Barbara really tell you no???

there is also the village 'green' in stony brook by the three village inn... there is also some nice water shots there as well...

isnt there also a park like place on 347 right near HWC... i think there may be a track there and a place where kids play baseball... i drive by it all the time... it is literally around the corner from HWC... but im still baffled by not being able to take picts at HWC... the grounds are so amazingly beautiful there!

Have you talked to Calverton Links (another golf course out east). We had our rehearsal dinner there and they were really nice.

Also, we took pics after our wedding at a beach in Aquebogue.

Thanks! I forgot about this post, sorry!!!
Does a public course mean that I can just walk on?

I am actually surprised, too-
But there was a photography disclaimer that said 'no pics taken on the footbridge while golf is in session', then at the bottom, it said- No guests or wedding party members, or photographers, are permitted on the golf course at any time. We can take pics at the gazebo, and on the deck, but thats it. I'm not really one for gazebos... The half moon dack will be fine fo rhte posed family pics, but not for the pretty, creative ones I have in mind for me and FH...
I have been pulling ofr Stonybrook Village for a while, plus it has the beach area at the marina...
And I LOVE the pics taken in the actual village.
But my Limo guy said that it gets crazy busy down there. I am not sure if Labor Day weekend would make it more or less busy...?
