A while back someone posted that they wanted to do painted stripes - I finally have my computer up and running at home - so I can finally show a picture. We moved into our home in September so we have been doing room by room. We finished our dining room about a month ago. Here is a picture of the stripes.
I love your room ! It is soooo pretty! I love the curtain dividing the rooms-- Is the other room your living room -- that is just how our house is set up - Id love to do something like that !

Re: Picture of Painted Stripes
It's much easier than we thought it would be. We painted the whole room one color and then we snapped chalk lines and used tape - put the 2nd color in between the tape and - that was it. Yes, the room off my diningroom is the livingroom and we used the curtain to seperate it.
