Reception is at 7pm in Centerport (thatched cottage)
We were hoping to take pictures at the Vanderbilt Museum but someone is having tentative wedding there, so we are on a waiting list.
In case it doesn't happen. where else can we look? My photographer had eye on the vanderbilt, not to keen on Centerport Beach, any ideas? Where is the Northport docks in comparison to the TC?
Our church is in West Babylon, I know the Argyle Park is over there, but not keen on all the goose poop Any other ideas?
I just took my pictures at TC and it was soooooo much easier. You don't have to worry as much about the back and forth.
Thats what we were hoping to do! But then they told us we cant come before 6pm , our ceremony is at 3pm only half hour. So our photographer doesnt want to wait around til 6 in case we need an additional 30 minutes. Our main concern is being finished by 7pm to enjoy cocktail hour.
Honestly the whole entire day was a BLUR!!!! I really have no concept of time since I wasn't looking at the clock. I'm pretty sure that DH, the men and his family were there ontime but the women and my family got a late start since the photographer was taking pixs of me at my parents house plus the hair person was still workin on hair. We left much later than anticipated.
I have NO clue how long I was sitting in the car when we actually got to TC but I think it was closer to 10:30 which means we had a little more time there. The ketubah ceremony started around 11:45 and we got to TC after 10:30. We definetely had enough time to take pictures.
The only thing was that by the time we finished many guests were already there and we rushed into the ketubah signing (the first time people are ontime to a jewish wedding LMAO) which was downstairs then rushed upstairs and the actual ceremont started around 12:20.
Were you given the option to come an hour earlier? We paid a little bit extra to come in at 10 and it was definetely worth it.
Wow that was longer than i thought it would be.
Unfortunately, there is a wedding before ours, so we can't. I'm nervous that people will come while we are taking pics and see us, and we have to fit the ketubah ceremony in as well. How long did your ketubah ceremony take? Are you reform/conservative/orthodox? We are reform, well I am but FH was raised conservative, but we are having a reform Rabbi. Did you go kosher? Wow, I have tons of questions for you!

FM me any questions. I'd be glad to answer
Since we were there early we didn't have any problems with people trying to sneak in to get pictures. Even when we finished outside and guests were already there we were pretty well shielded.
Lets see, we had a reform rabbi. I grew up reform and DH conservative and we didn't do a kosher wedding (we aren't too religious and well DH LOVES scallops wrapped in bacon ). We were told half an hour for the ketubah but being that we were married on Purim the rabbi was late so I'd say it was more like 15 minutes. I was a little surprised and upset that the rabbi didn't do the bedeken (veiling).
We were told the ketubah was supposed to be upstairs in the chapel but that didn't happen for some reason not sure why. We opted for the ceremony downstairs since there is no way to get up other than the stairs and we had a few guests that wouldn't be able to get up there (most importantly my 94 year old grandmother). No one really saw us other than a few people and we had to run upstairs after ketubah/before the ceremony started. TC did a really good job with that.
Just so you know, TC was amazing. People raved about the food and they threw in several stations during the CH we didn't request that really wowed people and got the best remarks (Thai and Indian)...there were a few people that said they were going to have events there after the wedding ...though there were a few small issues but no one other than the BP knew whch i won't get into on here.
