picture timing question

First off I am new to this site and want to thank you for helping. I am getting married at East Wind. We are the first wedding of the day on Saturday, April 28, 2007at noon. Now I am a superstitious person and didn't want my groom to see me before the wedding. He thinks this is rediculous since we have been living together for 4 years. He wants to do the pictures before the ceremony so we can enjoy the cocktail hour. My mom had the suggestion seeing if we can make the ceremony a half hour earlier but is it rude to expect the guests to wait? Do you think the catering hall will let us do the ceremony early and extend the cocktail hour by half an hour? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appeciated.

Re: picture timing question

I don't want my FH to see me in my gown either so here is what we are doing:

He is going to take pics with his family and GM b/4 the wedding, and I will do the same with my family and BMs. So after the ceremony the only thing left to do is complete family pics, bride and groom pics, and bride and groom with wedding party pics.

Also, it is not rude to keep guest waiting they will understand. My ceremony ends at 3:30 and my reception doesn't start till 5:30. Just make sure you note that when you send out invites.
