Pictures After Ceremony

Did any of you NOT see each other before, and only have the cocktail hour to take photos? Please tell me if you were happy with that, and with what you got. I can not convince my fiance to see me before - which I think is really sweet, but I'm not sure it is a good idea!

I am getting married next month, so I am not speaking from experience, but we did not even consider seeing each other before. We will take pictures outside of the church and then on the grounds of our reception hall. We have plenty of time in between the church and recption, and we are not going to our cocktail hour, so it should be fine.

Me and my fiance are not going to see each other before ceremony. If you dont want to miss you whole cocktail hour, dont have the reception immediatly following the ceromony, unless you are having your ceromony at your hall?

I dont think its a big deal to miss some of the cocktail hour, I rather not see him until the moment I walk down the asile, I guess it is individual decsion.

good luck

I have heard many good things about seeing each other before, that it lowers stress, that the photographer is able to take great shot of your faces when you first see each other, etc. But, we are still not doing it! There is something about us seeing each other for the first time that day when I get to the end of the aisle that I just want to experience! We have a good 2 hours between the church and reception, so it will be ok. However, if the cocktail hour was immediately after the church, I might have reconsidered, because A)we'd like everyone to be there and B)I'm not sure one hour is enough time! good luck!

We are taking most of our pictures before the ceremony since we both want to enjoy the cocktail hour and we are getting married at the same place we are having our reception. The only bad thing I can think of is that my FH won't have his wedding ring on in the pics but I am OK with that for the most part. I don't care if I see him before or if he sees me before because once you walk down the aisle, I feel like it will be like seeing each other the first time anyway, I am sure you can't replace that! But I agree, it is a personal choice!

For those getting married at the reception hall, when are all of you taking group shots (family/bridal party, etc.)???

One of the reasons we are taking our pics before the ceremony is bc we are doing some group shots during cocktail hour (maybe 15 minutes).

We did not see each other before. We did all our bridal party/family shots after the ceremony at our reception site. I wouldn't change a thing about the way we did it. But everyones situation is different - do what makes you more comfortable.

I would love to chat with you - I too am getting married at The Watermill. Your ceremony wsa there right? Did you have enought time to take pictures with your husband? Did you get taken out of your reception? Can you tell me who did your pictures? If you get a chance to answer all of these I would appreciate it! Thanks!
