Pictures before or after?

Original post by suzzi7404

Hey ladies, I'm so back and fourth with this one. I keep saying I want the first time my fiance sees me to be when I walk down the isle but then so many people are telling me that it's so much better to take pictures before. What did you all do? If you took pictures before do you think your husbands felt the same way when he saw you for the first time as he did when you were walking down the isle?

hmm. this is a tough one. we contemplated taking pics before for practical reasons. we were married at our hall and time was limited. we had one hour prior where the photographer took me alone w/ some family and him alone w/ some family shots. we had a 1 1/2 hour cocktail hour and did our pics during that (so we did not get to enjoy the cocktail hour and we did not get time alone at all) but it was the right choice for us. Only you can decide what is most important to you both. Keep in mind, missing the cocktail hour only made the evening go by FASTER so that was a down point. Either way, it will be a beautiful day for you both. Congrats and hope this helps

We're doing them after the ceremony because we have a lot of time between our ceremony and the reception...

Since we were getting married at our hall, it made sense that all of our pics be done beforehand. I was kind of against seeing him before, but I must say, it was the best moment of the day, and it didn't take away from the my/our moment down the aisel either. I was still so incredibly nervous going down the aisle, even though I had just seen my DH.

Our parents and BP were around us, and it was so intimate and special. Here are some pics from those moments:

So emotional...

Yet so happy...

You could really feel the excitement of everyone around us:

We are doing them before because it will be dark after our ceremony and we would like to have some beach pictures and go to our cocktail hour. We figure if we can talk to guests at the cocktail hour we can spend more time enjoying our wedding.
