I always had this idea of my FI seeing me in my wedding attire for the first time as I walked up the aisle. However I didn't really see too many 'amazing' pictures that I could take at Willow Creek - so I am thinking of perhaps going to a beach or somewhere before the wedding to get some shots... At the same time I REALLY wanted that WOW moment when I hit the aisle.
*sigh*
For those who got pics BEFORE the ceremony - did you feel at all like something was missing at the actual ceremony when you walked in?

Re: PIctures BEFORE the Ceremony
well im, not married yet but my best friend just got married and she made it so that before we all went to the reception hall, we stopped at a park out on long island to take beautiful pictures. I think you should check that out. Do you have a lot of time before church and reception?
I think it worked out perfectly. It killed the time between the church and the cocktail hour...we got there just as the cocktail hour was starting. The park was out on LI..her wedding was at Leonards.
I will try to find out the name of that park for you. It was gorgeous

Re: PIctures BEFORE the Ceremony
I am actually getting married at the Reception Hall and cocktail hour starts a half hour after the ceremony ends.
I won't have time to go anywhere besides Hamlet Willow Creek!

Re: PIctures BEFORE the Ceremony
I had my ceremony at the same place as the reception. For me, it was sooo much easier to get the pictures out of the way before the ceremony. We did a 'special moment' where they had my DH wait outside of my door, open it, and they photographed his reaction. It was a lot more personal then 180 people staring. We were able to hug and talk, which wouldn't have happened during the ceremony.
After the ceremony, we spent 20 minutes in our suite eating and then we joined everyone at the cocktail hour, getting all of the greetings out of the way so that we could ENJOY the reception.

Re: PIctures BEFORE the Ceremony
we did the pictures before and it took absolutely NOTHING away... everything was amazing - we had a private moment where we saw each other for the first time, and then were totally relaxed taking pics, and the felt so much less nervous before the ceremony, and it took nothing away from walking down the aisle. I have never seen one person say they regret doing the pics before. Check out this thread: Seeing each other for the first time

Re: PIctures BEFORE the Ceremony
My cousin did that also... its not a big deal.. if you dontmind, go for it, it gives you more time at CH and reception too! I personally am a little traditional though on the otherhand and I love that inital shock when youre walking down the isle at church and i wouldnt trade that for anything!!
Think about it, its a big decision. Either way you go though, you wont go wrong!!!

Re: PIctures BEFORE the Ceremony
We are having the ceremony at Flowerfields and are taking our pictuers 2 hours before. You still get the WOW moment. The first time he sees you, is the first time he sees you, regardless of where or when, and the photographer can capture it anywhere

Re: PIctures BEFORE the Ceremony
I've never been to HWC so I don't know the grounds but maybe start a post to HWC brides and see what they think. Preshy7 wrote a great review. I'm getting married at the same place and I am not seeing FH before hand because I also want that moment of walking down the aisle.
