Pictures from my shower!
Just wanted to share . . .
I had a wonderful day yesterday at my shower -- which my mom threw with tons of help from my wonderful BMs -- at Fiore Restaurant in Floral Park. The restaurant (which used to be called Viola's) has fantastic food and is a lovely place for a small party!!
I have to give my mom special kudos for the favor idea she came up with -- mini African Violets in mini watering cans (plants from Hicks, watering cans from Michael's). Everyone loved them!
My BMs planned some great games -- a special request of mine b/c I've always hated just watching presents be opened. They quizzed me on how well I knew my FH and gave me great gifts for answering correctly. Unfortunatly (and embarassingly) I don't seem to know much in terms of trivia on him (like the population of his home state) but they gave me my gag gifts anyway -- a feather boa, bride panties, 'wifey' t-shirt, etc. And I think the guests had fun watching me squirm. Later in the party we had a second game -- a cross word puzzle about FH and I -- that everyone else got to play and win prizes for their answers.
Another really special item was a wreath one of my BMs made with special photos from my life -- I love it!!!!
We got a ton of beautiful gifts but the best part was having all the women in my life come together.
Some pics below. . .
Just one vent -- the shower was supposed to be a surprise and my girls went above and beyond trying to keep it that way -- my MOH (who lives in Chicago) flew in special for it, but had a very believable story as to why she was visiting. (Even though my wedding is 6 weeks away and I knew there would be a shower soon, she said she was coming in b/c she had to miss my shower -- moving further away for a new job, which is true). Unfortunately some other friends and my FMIL (!) who apparently don't understand what 'surprise' means RSVPed to me. I tried to keep up the facade of being surprised but even the waitress at Fiore's said she could let when I walked in that I knew what was up! But -- who cares! -- it was a blast and I'm still all buzzy about it!!!
