Pictures of parents weddings

I would like to put pictures of our parents from their weddings out at our reception. Any suggestions on what size pictures to use and how to present them. Is anyone else doing anything like this?

Re: Pictures of parents weddings

I love this idea. You can put them on the table with the place (Seating) cards. I did this w/pics of my husband and I since our parents are divorced. My friend did this and put them on the piano that was in the foyer that we had drinks in while waiting for the ceremony to start. It was so classy.
Or you can put them on the cake table.

Re: Pictures of parents weddings

we had our parents wedding albums out during the cocktail hour. We also had some framed pictures of other family weddings - they were 4x6 and 5x7s. For parents I'd go 8x10.

Family got such a kick out of the albums - it allowed them to not only see our parents on their wedding day but also how they looked 35 years ago.

Presentation depends on your hall. We had them on the side table with our guest book. You could put frames on the piano or fireplace mantle, etc. I don't know how the Coral House is laid out...you could put them with the seating cards, or sprea out through out room...

Re: Pictures of parents weddings

the place I'm getting married at has a fireplace in the cocktail hour room with a mantle that many people put pictures on. There are 2 fireplaces so my FH will get one to put pics on and I'll get one. I'm going to put wedding pics of my parents and granparents and some pics of me and my family growing up. I think I'm going to put them all in nice frames and the florist is going to put candles and rose petals on the mantle to decorate it. I'm not sure what size pics, I guess whatever size they are is fine (not huge though).

Re: Pictures of parents weddings

Did you have the frames engraved, or put the names and their wedding dates with or on the pictures in any way. I thought it would be a nice to have the names and wedding dates there as well for people from the other families or friends who were not sure who was who

Re: Pictures of parents weddings

I love this idea...it really shows where you both came from (not literally! :) and brings the two families together in a sense. I am going to put one wedding picture of both parents on the table w/ the place cards.

Re: Pictures of parents weddings

I also wanted to do this and I think I am putting the frames of both parents near our place cards.
Dec02Bride, what room in the Coral House are you getting married in?
I am getting married there too! In the Americana room!

Re: Pictures of parents weddings

I am having a photo montage, on a 50 inch screen next to the DJ, or in the cocktail room, I haven't decided. There will be alternating photos throughout the night of my FH and I growing up, with our parents, siblings, and bridal party members. It took me a LONG time to find a DJ who did this, I am very excited about it. The pictures are in chronological order, so you basically see us grow up!

I think 8x10 are the perfect size.
