Pictures on the North Shore

We are getting married in a church in Port Jeff and our reception is in Hauppauge. Originally we were going to go to Jones Beach for pictures ( I want some on the water) but is there a place on the North Shore that is nice. We have quite a bit of time in between the ceremony and the reception for this exact reason.

Definitely Crab Meadow Beach in Northport - people don't like it as much because it doesnt' have waves to swim in like Jones Beach, but for pictures it is actually more beautiful than Jones Beach. Enjoy!

Cedar Beach is a great place to take pictures. That is in Mt. Sinai.

I grew up near Port Jeff -- there are some some spots closer to there you could consider. Of course, you can get great shots right on the water in PJ, but if you are thinking beach, West Meadow Beach would be w/n 10 minutes. On the way there you would pass the duck pond and old post office -- you might get some nice shots there too. There is also a beach right next to PJ Country Club (Lombardis on the Sound). My sis got married there and we did pics there. Smith Point is the closest ocean beach to there. Hope that helps!

You could also go to the park in Northport. You could get some pretty pictures in the green part of the park as well on the dock in the harbor.

tad more west then were you want to be but Old Westbury Gardens..... i would think you would need alot more time for that coming from port jeff then turning back for happauge
