Pie.

Pie.

Life is a journey of personal discovery, and last night I discovered that I am truly passionate about pie, and should possibly make it my life's work. I am apparently highly skilled at eating pie, and if anyone can think of a way I can earn a living at pie eating, I would appreciate hearing about it.

Last night my FSIL made a chocolate pecan pie. That's right- she took the most fattening king of all pies, the pecan pie, the Tyrannosaurus Rex of pies, and added chocolate. I both love and hate her for it.

How do I love pie? Let me count the ways.
1. pie is awesome.

That's pretty much it. Just wanted to share my feelings about pie.

You may ask, do you share those feelings with the ******* stepchild of pie, pi? And the answer is, no. I find it profoundly offensive that they should give the life-affirming wonder of pie the same name as lowly 3.14159 pi. The english language is nonsensical, arbitrary and cruel.

All hail pie.

And yes, I am bored at work today.

I really can't control myself when it comes to dessert. I didn't go overboard on the meal but then crammed 4 desserts onto my plate!!

Re: Pie.

I wish I was as disciplined as you. At FH's family's house, they make this hot bacon dressing for their salad. The first time I tried it, I thought it was gross, and now I love it. Maybe it's just the idea of pouring hot bacon over salad that I celebrate- I feel like I'm getting one over on the man, you know? Yeah, I'm eating a salad. And I'm pouring hot bacon dressing on it. You want to make something of it??? Then sausage stuffing. The adage of 'You are what you eat' was really exemplified for me after I ate so much sausage stuffing, when I suddenly felt sausage-like in my now too-tight pants.

I hardly ate any turkey, because, let's face it, it's sort of healthy.

And then dessert came, and there was so much frigging pie (pumpkin, the aforementioned chocolate pecan, coconut (LOVE IT!), shoefly (never had this before- turns out, it's awesome. Like I needed to find 2 new awesome pies), banana chocolate), I suddenly lost all sense of reason and personal dignity. Last I remember, I was fetal in a corner with chocolate on my face, rocking back and forth, muttering 'I think I can have one more piece', and sweating profusely.

I'm so ashamed.

Thank you, my sisters. It's so nice to know I wasn't alone. The first step is admitting you have a problem. Seriously-I got so crazy by the end of the night, I was almost snorting lines of confectioner's sugar.

oh my! My sister made chocolate pecan pie yesterday also. It is so delicious it borders on being obscene. I believe in some states it is illegal.

I too, cannot move today and am in a sugar induced coma. The really sick part is that I woke up this morning and my first thought was 'I'm hungry'

ME TOO!!! I was like, Hey, stomach, are you SERIOUS??? So I quick ate some hummus on whole wheat pittettes- small pita, so I can have 5 instead of 1.

Then some boob at my job brings in 4 pizzas. There are maybe 10 of us here today. 2 slices later, I'm awash in a flood of self-recriminations shame.

I love cupcakes how you love pie. I brought Crumbs cupcakes to my aunts yesterday and I was the only one who ate them.

I did run 4 miles this morning to make up for it though. But now i'm going to my besties Thanksgiving Remix and eating it all over again
