I woke up this morning at around 5 and my right eye was all crusty and had some gunk coming out of it and it was red. Now it's watery and still on the pinkish side, but not as bad. I'm going to the doctor today at 2 to find out if it's definitely pink eye. This really s u c k s!
Does anyone know how long it's contagious for if you're on antibiotics?

Re: Pink eye
I think it is 24 hours. I had it a few months ago and the school wouldn't let me come back to work unless I had the drops in for 24 hours.

Re: Pink eye
ive had pink eye and was around people nobody ever got it btw...but in the meantime to help boil some chamomile tea and soak up a cotton ball or something similar and hold it over your eye. This made such a huge difference for me.

That is good to know. No one ever told me to do something like that. They always said only drops. I was so uncomfotable until the drops started to work.

Re: Pink eye
Just make sure if you rub your eye don't touch anything or anyone untill you wash it. that is how it's transfered from person to person. One perosn rubs there eye then touchs someone else and they rub there eye.

Re: Pink eye
take a washcloth and run it under water - put it in the MICROWAVE for 20-30 seconds and hold that on your eye for a while ...
the hot compress will help to bring all the gunk/runnyness out and soooth it
