pink peony bouquet

Can someone help me find a picture of the pale pink, all-peony bouquet that (I think) was on the cover of Martha Stewart Weddings? Thanks!

Me too! Does anyone know when peonies are in season? I love it so much I'm considering switching from tulips to those for a girl.

Oh ew - I may have just changed my mind. Just found this:

Why Do We Not See
More Peonies Used
In Wedding Work

Peonies have a very short season and so many times they are not marketed for floral work. Another problem has been the ants which help to open the blooms.

Some florists will submerge the peonies for an hour or so and usually the ants all float to the surface.

Ack - I haven't even thought about when different flowers are in season! I haven't started meeting with florists yet, so I don't know if this is much of an issue. I think I've just always assumed that b/c the flowers are grown all over the place, that they can pretty much always get anything you want. But that may not be the case, I really don't know.

you are probably ok - peony is an early spring flower - its fall and summer that have to use fake if they want peonies

They are also REALLY expensive. I wanted just a few (2 or 3 in my boquet) and they couldn't do it because they are not in season.

Peonies are very $$$$ . I love those bouquets though. Had no idea about the ants.

Beware of florists who tell you they can get peonies even when they are out of season. I booked my florist based on this, and now I have no peonies.

I think you are referring to this one. My florist, Matthew Robbins from Artfool, is actually the designer of that BQ. It you want his info, let me know and I will give it to you.

Peonies are a Spring flower, they are in season I believe from April to June. I used all peonies for my wedding and I had no problem with ants at all, they are such beautiful flowers.
