Pinterest

Can someone explain to me what it is and how you do it? It looks like they have some great recipes but I can't get them.

It's a virtual pin board. You can save things that you see on other websites to your own pin boards. You can also see what other people are pinning and can re pin what they've found if you like it.

I've found so many great things on there. Recipes, crafts, clothes, etc. FM me your email address if you need an invite. I will warn you though...it's quite addicting!!!

OK - You talked me into it. FMing you.

I use it more for re-pinning what others have. Here's my best at a tutorial:

When you log in it brings you to a page showing all recent things that 'pinners' you're following have pinned. Basically it shows a picture with a description below it. For example, let's say I pinned a chicken recipe. It'll show the picture of the dish with 'great chicken recipe below it'. If you click on the picture, it will take you the website with the complete recipe. Think of it like a bookmark.

If you click on the 'Everything' link right under the Pinterest logo it will take you to the recent things all pinners have pinned. What I like to do is scroll down and if there is something that interests me I'll right click and open it to a new window as to not refresh the 'Everything' page. If I like what's in the link I'll repin and save it to a categorized board (i.e. desserts, slow cooker recipes, fashion, funnies, etc.)

You can also look for something specific. I searched the other day for any ideas people may have pinned regarding going away parties. Just do a search like you would on any other website in the top left search area.

Okey Dokey I'll try that. I saw something when I first logged in that I wanted to pin and now I can't find the darn thing. This is going to be interesting

Why is it that every time I pin something and then go back its a completely different page?

Because the page refreshes to what's being pinned most recently. If I want to look at something to repin I right click and open the pin in a new tab or page so I don't lose my place.

And what is the difference between Like and Repin?

Repin you can save it to one of your categorized boards and change the note on it. Liking it just likes it...you can see which ones you have liked though. I repin more than like.

Tell me about it! I have the app for my phone. I find so much stuff I can do...but haven't done a lot of what I've pinned...one day maybe!
