Place card holders - yay?!?!

I have gone back and forth about placecard holders for a while now - I love the idea, but haven't found anything I really love.

We are incorporating the Yankees and baseball into a lot of the wedding (b/c of our engagement and b/c we are just really big fans).

I found baseball type holders a while ago - but are these too childish?? I have looked at so many sites and see such cute things w/ hearts and stuff like that - but nothing seems 'us.'

We aren't doing a theme so anything beachy or wine wouldnt really work.

Do you guys like em? Do you think they are a nice addition or just a waste of cash?

Any thoughts are welcomed.. thanks!!

PS - we are going to have a favor, not sure yet what - but we have a couple ideas..

I found them for $1.99 - thats not too crazy right?? I was looking at favors that were a little over $2.00

yeah, I don't know how I feel about those for the wedding. They are cute, but they seem really informal... and they do look expensive. Are you doing anything else baseball oriented? Cause I feel like there's aare fine lines between an oversaturated theme, a good theme and randomness, KWIM?

i think it really depends on your personalities. if both you and the FH aren't really the lovey dovey type and prefer a baseball game over a romantic dinner out, then i think these would be the perfect card holders, esp if all the ppl attending know that that's your style...

Totally KWYM - we have a couple of things. We may get specialy done place cards holders w/ pinestripes (ya know the yankees), we are having a '7th inning stretch' during the reception to kinda break things up, we are going to hand out hot pretzels when people leave or hand out boxes of cracker jacks as if you are at the game, the song we are walking into is one mariano rivera walks out onto the field to - so there are small things here and there we are trying to incorporate, so i thought maybe doing this could be another one

but i do see the informal side of it - but is it bad that's kinda what i like about it? lol

OOOH, ok, no, then I think that'as a great balance. If this were just the one random thing you were adding cause you guys love baseball, i'd be scratching my hed as a guest, especially if I were a guest who didn't know you very well personally, like a coworker or something. But given that info, and the price you found, I think they're really cute and will tie in nicely to your not overdone baseball theme. I think those touches are really nice and add just enough personality without being kitchy. Good job

I think all of those things are soo cute and different. I think that the card holders would fit what you are going for perfectly.

since you are incorporating all the other baseball touches too, I think they're really cute! if you weren't then I'd be a lil iffy on them. But, like some of the other girls said, maybe use them as a favor too just bc I can see things adding up really quickly...unless its already built into ur budget, then that's awesome!!!

i think its cute! but then again i loooooooooove baseball!

If you have a lot of guests who love baseball and its a thing between FH and you then go for it.

I really, really like them. They are so cute!! Are they super expensive? Since you guys are big on baseball, I would definitely do it!!!
