I kinda like the idea of doing them the other way... then the wives get their names on them!

I was at a bat mitzvah a few weeks ago where even though FH and I were a couple, we each received our own cards. I thought that was a bit much.

I haven't started ours yet, but I think I'm going to start working on the tables soon! I'm kinda excited about it!

I think I'm going to make index cards (or small pieces of index cards) with everyones' names on them and use it to make a big chart.

i'm also doing Mr. & Mrs. Guy Lastname! :o) (unless it's an unmarried couple...then i put the girls name and then the guys name like this:

Miss/Ms. Girl Lastname
Mr. Guy Lastname

I read in some etiquette thing that you are supposed to put the girl's name first in an unmarried but together couple... *shrugs*...but I think it also depends on your type of affair... a more formal affair M/M for sure... but for a more casual thing, I think first and last names without the M/M is fine too. I just like the look of it they way I'm doing it.)

sorry so wordy!

Me too! I don't think I'm even going to use the guy's first name. Just , Mr. & Mrs. Doe. I'm lazy and don't really care what etiquette says to do!

Here's a tip I read from a bridal magazine, in regards to starting the seating chart.
Use the tab post-its, and put them on plates. That way, you can restick them where ever you want, without worrying about a breeze blowing them all over the place. I already made my post-its!

I did Mr. & Mrs. So and So instead of separating their first names. If they are engaged, I did 'The Future Mr. & Mrs. John Doe'. Those couples really liked it and thought it was a nice touch.

What a great tip!!! Thanks for the idea! I think I might start tonight (although first I have to clean my apt... so we'll see when I get home and get started... might be a leave work early day since I know my boss is going to the Mets game and will be gone by 5).
