Are you girls using traditional place cards? If so are you using place card holders? Anyone have any pictures of ideas they like for place cards?

Re: Place Cards
I was going to go all nutty with them...get these cute little place card holders and get fancy place cards printed up, but then everyone I told that to persuaded me that it was just a waste of money. My one friend put it perfectly...all the formal parties and weddings that I went to, have I ever kept the stand for the place card..? So, I decided that 200 / 300 for all the place cards will be spent on something else for the wedding. Every little bit helps... HTH... LOL I will be using the ones my halls supplies and just having them folded in half standing on their own....

Re: Place Cards
I was going to get cute holders, but really why spend the extra money. I saw at a wedding my mom and I went to this past Oct, she used the place card that the Hall gave her. And All she did is put a Fall leaf sticker on each and punched a leaf shape in the back of it....... So I think I'm just going to try something like that....Simple!!!

Re: Place Cards
I am using these & my mom will be typing up the labels for them... Fh's idea was to put the guests name and then say 'Destination: Aruba, Bahamas, etc' (since we're naming our tables)

I don't know if I can explain this, but I'll try. The guests name will be on the outside of the envelope and inside there will be a card with the table number. Hope that makes sense.

Re: Place Cards
the last wedding I went to CH was on a boat so the place cards were in boat shaped luggage tags...it went right in the garbage...I would spend my money elsewhere

How do you get them to stand up so they can be seen?
I was thinking of doing little envelopes with names and table numbers on the front and my favor donation information on the inside. Haven't found cards w/envelopes smaller than response card size.
Where did you find the cards and envelopes?

I am doing the names on sand dollars. Very excited about it. Table names will go on the bottom and be buried under the sand.

Re: Place Cards
I was going to do votives as place cards, but then I found these super cute guys and decided it would save a ton of time on my part!!! And i still get my candle too...
I actually was going to do the votive candles but saw a really cute idea when I went shopping for BM dresses. It's a framed seating chart and it's set up kinda like how you read menus outside a restaraunt. It lists everyone in alphabet order and the table they are assigned. You set it up on an easel and when people come in they find their name.
I can't seem to find a pic but I'll search.

That;s a very valid point and that's kind of what I'm stuck on too. I guess I will have to see if I can find cheap place cards.
