place cards

Hi girls,
I am working on my placecards and I have some silly questions - do you put couples on the same card? And do you list the guy or girl first or alphabetically? Any other things I need to know about doing them would be great.
TIA!

Re: place cards

If they are married I would put.
Mr. & Mrs. John Smith (one card both name together)

If they are in a relationship I would do
Mr. John Smith (one card)
Ms. Jane Doe (one card)

I'm doing on one card, but I would do female first.
If someone replies they are bringing a guest but doesn't give a name, are you calling them and asking for the name?

HOnestly EVERY SINGLE wedding I have been to my FH and I have been on 1 placecard. We are together why would you make 2 place cards?
AND do you know how many placecards you would end up with if you separated people that ARE together? I would PERSONALLY find it VERY weird and kind of offensive if I went to HIS friends party and had a separate place card like I wasnt WITH him. Its not MY friend so why would I be on a separate place card on top of it. Ya know what I mean?

I think you are fine with 1 place card and the person you are friends with goes first and who they are dating goes 2nd.

Re: place cards

If they were in any kind of a relationship we put them on one card (it's kind of a respectful way of acknowledging that they are together even if they're not married). And if they were invited +1/with guest, even if we knew who the guest was (like if it was just a friend as oppossed to a significant other), we put Mr. John Doe & guest.

If it was a whole family of people then we wrote Mr. & Mrs. John Doe & family.
