anyone have any unique ideas for place cards? I wanna do something different than the traditional cards on a table with their names and table number. Maybe even name the tables instead of numbers?
any ideas?

I think we are doing table names and numbers. Putting the numbers on the place cards but the tables will have a name of a NYC landmark... with a little tidbit of info about them

FH and I were thinking of naming the tables met players since we love the mets.... But i saw a show where no one could find their tables b/c their tables weren't numbers so I opted out. I love the idea of a frame w/ 3 spots... take 1 a pic of fh @ 1 and me @1 with the middle frame 1.. same as table 21- as at 21... cute idea.. not sure if i will find frames that are worth it though
as for place cards i was thinking of getting them at michaels and finding fake flowers to add to them

If you don't want to do place cards at all you can do a framed chart of place seatings. I know I have seen them at The Wedding Company in Manhasset

We're not doing this, but whenever I see pics of place cards hanging from a tree I absolutely love it. It's really pretty and very aesthetically pleasing!
We're just not doing because we're afraid it may be difficult for some of our older guests (grandma's friends) to control.

were definitley doing something differnt
for table #s: we are doing the back of sports jerseys w/ the name and number on the back for example table 5 would be a mets jersey w/ WRIGHT and #5 table 2 would be a rangers jersey w/ LEETCH and #2
for seating cards: they will look like sports tickets to a game or concert

we are doing a seating chart that will be in a big frame on an easel at the entrance to the main room.

Our Place cards will be attached to the favors, which will be candied apples. In addition to that, we were thinking of naming our tables after baseball positions (Shortstop, 1st base) or Yankee players (Jeter, Cano, Swisher) we don't know how, but we really want to incorporate baseball into the wedding.
Thats soooo cute!! May I also recommend the Carriage card holder! It would be perfect with your theme! Also, I just booked at JT this weekend and when walking around through their kitchen and seeing them doing the watermelon carving, they were doing a horse and carriage with it! We are going to get it also. He proposed on a horse and carriage so we thought it would be perfect! Also perfect for the disney princesses!!
