my place cards and menus come with the package at the RH.. Just wondering.. do i fill them out myself, or do they generally do that as well. Didn't think to ask at the time ( in fact i was so excited i think i forgot a majority of my questions, lmao) If not, can anyone recommend a good calligrapher who isn't to expensive??? I was thankful that that was all included (which is why although a bit above the price we wanted to start at before the + + we went ahead because we felt like we were really getting a lot for our money..plus the excellent rep and reviews that come with it!! not like i did such a great job at negotiating anyways..lol)
Also, have an past CB brides (or guests) used the cake that comes with the package??? was the design what you asked for? where you able to do tastings? How did it come out?? pics?? It's not really a HUGE concern for me because i haven't heard anything bad..but i was wondering if that was because no one had chosen to use it..lmao. I have a general idea of what i want, but i have gotten some great quotes from other bakeries if i choose to go a different way... any advice would be great!! THANKS! :)

im not using the placecards given at my reception hall, i want to do something different...
as for the cake, im using the cake given to me by my RH..usually they go through some bakery and some cakes are a little extra but u should be able to get what u want....but if your question is specifically for people that have had their weddings at chatau briand, i would post it on the '07, '06, or the BHB board

DUH! i'm on 08 as always..no one has gotten married yet ..lol.. but thanks for the response about the cake anyway, i'm sure it will be fine, but i have heard about cakes from some RHs whose names i wont mention (not CB ladies) where the cake came out completely different than what they asked for, and tasted horrible ( don't really get how cake could taste that bad though...mmmm cake..lol) so i just wanted some feedback..thanks again though :)

no not at all!! ive heard great things about your hall.. i was going to go there myself but its like an hr away from my church and i was really worried with friday traffic. CB cutes off like 30 mins of travel time, plus it just felt like it was soo me! but no worries, i hear amazing things about both of our places :)

I'm not sure if my RH gives the placecards but I am getting the cake through them. With the placecard you can print labels out for them on the computer I am not doing anything fancy with them because I feel you just through them in the garbage so whats the point in having anything fancy. But thats JMO I know a lot of people are doing fancy things with them I am just trying to save some money where I can!!

i agree with that, im one of those people that saves placecards only cause i do scrapbooks, but mostly people have no use for them once they know what table they are at..so why not save the money where u can :)

That's my take on it too. I'm a fox hollow bride so a lot of things are the same for you and I since we're sister venues. I think we'll be going with the cake and the place cards from them as well as the menu cards. I cant see spending the extra money on it...

yea i see no need to spend extra on the place cards.. was more concerned with the cake.. not that they dont have a great rep for this stuff.. but its not them who makes it.. so i was just curious.. other than that.. if i get my place cards and menus why not?? that's less stationary ..and less being used in my budget.. i can put that extra money towards things id rather splurge on. :)
