Place cards for RH... anyone doing these?

Okay, SO I was watching platinum weddings on Sunday which was a mistake in itself because I can’t afford half the stuff on that show lol but they had little tiny vases with two small green bamboo sticks in them (for good luck) and the place card I guess glued to the vase. Anyway before I saw them I didn’t realize we needed to do this. I know my RH is giving me the place cards and I was just planning on using those but is anyone doing anything extra for the place cards too? I guess I could probably DIY it but I wanted to know what everyone else is doing

I'm doing votive holders with the names and table on them...DIY..so who knows if it will end up working out for me lol I'm not very crafty.

Our RH doesn't supply place cards so I'm still undecided on what we are going to do. For the life of me I can't remember what its actually called, but I've seen poster sized seating charts in leu of place cards and I thought the idea was pretty cool.....but now I'm liking the idea your talking about from Platimum weddings!!

I'm not sure exactly what i'm doing yet but I know I'mnot using the ones the RH gives us. I need everything to match!

i am not using the ones the hall is providing but dont want to buy holders either being that i bought nice favors already....so..i went and purchased plain ivory place cards from staples and designed my own...they will be fairly simple with a little personal touch...all i am going to do is print the table number and names in a pretty font and add my fh's Irish family crest to the left side!

I am thinking of getting small picture frames and making the name and table inserts myself. I like this idea because it will be an extra favor that everyone can get use out of.

I wanted to do something on my own but now I might be using the ones they give us... depends on the money situation when it comes to that point.

We are getting married at the same place. I know Leonard's gives us place cards but I wanted to make it look a bit nicer. I bought these frames and I'm going to print out the names and table #'s on plain placecard size paper myself in a nice font on the computer and put it inside. I think these will look nice with all the gold and crystal chandaliers.

Right now I'm sticking with the votive idea..i love it!!

I was thinking of using the one's from the RH and add a stick on gem or crystal like stone to jazz up i don't want to spend money somewhere i don't need to. Plus i was going to put a picture of us on the table with candles.

Im getting ones that match my invitations with a small crystal on it instead of a brooch like my invite.

im making a sandbox and sticking umbrellas in the sand and have the tags coming off of them to look like towels.... lets see if i go through with this!

I'm going to cheap out in this respect and use the cards the RH provides, but I'm pretty certain I'm going to do table names instead of numbers, so will spend the money on that and possibly gold tone picture frames to hold them in.
