I am doing my place cards and was wondering: If a person is coming with a date, do I put both of their names on the place card? Do I use one card per couple or should everyone get their own card? When a husband and wife have different last names do I just write both of their last names?
Also, for the parents, do I put a card for them as well or not? What about grandparents?

Re: Place cards help!!!
if the person has and 'and guest' i would put it on the same card. my parents are getting a place card as well. i think it will say 'parents of the bride'. i would also put the married couple with different last names on the same one.

It is my understanding, that everyone that has a seat should be listed on a card. That includes your parents and grandparents! They need to know where to sit too! I think putting a couple on one card is fine. For the couple with different last names, I would just list them as Ms. Herlastname and Mr. Hislastname- each on their own line or you can put them as Mr. and Mrs. Hislastname, because even though she doesn't use his name, she still is Mrs. Hislastname! For a person with coming with a date, you should try and get the name of the date and put that on the card. If you cannot get the name, or it is unknown, then write: Mr. XXXX and Guest!! HTH!

if you know the last name of the guest you should put both names on there. If not, you can put 'so and so and guest'. I'm planning to make place cards for everyone, family included. Put the same names on the place cards as you did on the invitation.

Re: Place cards help!!!
I know all first names, but I don't know last name and I won't be able to get in contact with that person until couple of days before the wedding, when everything will be ready. So that's my biggest issue.
What about kids? I have a separate table and not sure if I should number it, or simply make it kids table and put that on the place cards?
