place card/table number ideas

place card/table number ideas

I'm having a difficult time decided what I want to go with for our table numbers and place cards...I know I have a while to decide, but its really bothering me!!!

At first I wanted to do tables for all of the places we've been together and use a picture from each place... basically a travel theme. We then booked 4th of July so I want to do something to tie in the holiday. I was thinking of doing Sparklers as place cards and putting a tag on them to show which table. These are my two favorite ideas, but I don't know how to tie them together...I feel like its two totally different themes.

We are also getting a photobooth with picture frames to put them in. I was planning on just putting one at each place setting with a poem or something giving directions in each one, but that could also double as a place card, but then what would the table number be??

I know this probably sounds ridiculous but we're over a year away and all the big stuff is done...now I get to obsess over silly details. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks girls!

I would go with your original idea... its different and personal. Its a great way to share with everyone and it ties in with the photobooth idea.

I like the first idea, we were going to do that for the engagement party, but decided last minute so we didn't have time to set it up, so we might do that for the wedding
we were going to do
Dave's house, bayshore ny- where we met
niagra falls, CA- our first mini-trip
the princess diaries II, royal engagement, holtsville, ny- our first date
ampitheatre, southpark NC- where he proposed
and a whole bunch of other places we've been as our 'table numbers' and have airline tickets as the seating cards.

I personally love that idea because it shares special memories.

The idea of tickets for the place card its great! How hard to do you think it would be to put it together? I actually work as a travel agent on the side so getting the tickets would be easy...its just figuring out how to make it look nice ya know? Do you think it ties in well to the 4th of July?

it's so easy, there's a site (I don't remember it) that will custom make the tickets, and they have save the dates too.

as for making the table numbers, get picture frames and print pictures of the locations and write on them 'venice' so people know, or you can make your CP's to look like that location, so each table will have a diff CP.

fitting into the 4th of july might be a little hard, but you can make your head table 'USA' themed because you live in the USA.

I think your first idea is very cute, romantic, and fits in nicely with a wedding. IMO, you don't want to over-do the whole 4th of July theme, it could get more backyard picnic-y than wedding.

you could replace the flowers and put an american flag and fireworks to incorporate the 4th

What do you think about Post Cards?

Re: place card/table number ideas

I think your original idea is wonderful. However, if you do want t go with the holiday idea, you could incorporate flags somehow. Perhaps as placecards? Although you would have to be very careful, as I feel this would only work if you were REALLY into it + I think it would get busy very quickly.
