Re: Place to have a ceremony
Well the problem is that I want to have the kids at the ceremony..but not the reception...I thought having the ceremony somewhere else would give my brother time to bring the kids to the babysitter and then enjoy the reception...I really want my two nephews there but their parents don't want to have to worry about them at the reception.

Re: Place to have a ceremony
You can try CW Post Interfaith Center, we are holding our ceremony there. It is free for alum, and $750 if you have not affiliation with the university. Dowling also has a chapel, so do most other universities (Stony Brook, Molloy, etc...), they may be a good bet because most of them are non-secular. You can also try Unitarian Churches, they are more liberal and very welcoming.

Re: Place to have a ceremony
Have you considered museums, inside atriums at a botanical garden or even a hotel? Are you having any out of town guests? If so, many hotels can accomodate you. Where is your RH? Area if you don't want to give location... some times they can make a suggestion. But you will still be looking at spending like $500. I think some mansions charge $1000 but not sure if its only when you hold your reception there....If I think of anything...will let you know.

Re: Place to have a ceremony
Thanks ladies...I want to keep the ceremony as close to suffolk as I can...that's where all of the neices and nephews are from...FH has this thing about getting married in a church other than a catholic church! Don't ask why...I can't figure it out myself..I am not religious so it really doesn't matter either way.

Coe Hall, the planting fields.
They allow ceremonies up to 125 people, indoors @ the musuem. Very pretty. The only reason why we are not using them was because they will have an exhibit going on during the time of our wedding.

Re: Place to have a ceremony
I posted on your other thread but figured I would again here... The Riviera in Massapequa quoted us $73pp for a Sunday in October... I'm sure they could do even better for December and they are pretty much as close as you can get to Suffolk and still be in Nassau.
