I am having a small wedding with 50 guests. My family are not big dancers (as am I) and I find the usual layout of RH with a huge dance floor in the middle to be very intimidating (I still would like dancing... but not necessarily a dane floor). I think I'd prefer wood floors throughout and people can just dance wherever they choose to. Can anyone recommend such a place???

Check out the Old Field Club. The dance floor is off to the side. It is a quaint but beautiful hall that can acommodate parties of different sizes.

Ouch! Yea.. I love OFC. It is the only place that seems to have everything I want. Unfortunately, they will not take a minimum under 100.

i think your best bet would be a restaurant w/ 50 people. my e-party was at domenicos, they have diff size rooms and the food was excellent. although i dont think the floor was wood.

Peppercorns in hicksville sounds perfect. My bridal shower was there and then a friend had an 80 person wedding there. The food is excellent and the upstairs room is so private.

Re: Place without a dance floor?
The Metropolitan in Glen Cove has a small room downstairs that is great. It does have a small dance floor but I have been to xmas parties there where people didn't dance. It is quite comfy and you do not feel pressured to dance. The food and service is great plus FH best friend works there.
Sans Souci in Sea Cliff also has hardwood floors/dance floor but does smaller parties. We had e-party there and did not have a dj or anything and it did not feel akward that people weren't dancing..... FM me with any questions
