we added the guests names too if we had known them for a while (ie - they had been a couple for a while, etc)

I think thats really nice when you know the person they are going to bring and put the name.. ever since we started dating and esp. now we have a baby every family party from my side had both of our names.. and his family still put guest instead of my name!!! that bothered my sooo much you have no idea!!!!

I agree, as well. We went down to the wire to find out the guests' names, and a few were impressed that we even knew their names. MY BIL's date came up to me to thank me

Ok, I am doing this now too. I agree to find the guests name as hard as you can, but what if you only know their first name. Is it ok to put Mr. John Doe and Lisa or should I just leave it and guest because I don't know their last name!!

I guess it would be ok.. I think the formal way is a little nicer.. just becareful theres not two john and lisa's!! we have a bunch of that in his family.. everyone would be really confused!!
