Placecard help

OK so I bought normal plain placecards that fold over. And I want to make them look like this:
How do I attach this ribbon to it? Any suggestions?

(btw I know these are by Anna griffin but they were too expensive so I'm trying to DIY them)

Re: Placecard help

Im not sure if thats done by holes in the card, or you can tie the ribbon and then hotglue gun it on to the card.

I'm also a big fan of the hot glue idea. Those things work wonders, and it seems like it would be easier than trying to punch all the holes.

I thought of the holes too, but I don't want the holes showing, b/c I think a regular hole punch would be a pain in the *** to do and than where would the holes be b/c if they're in the front than they'll definately show and its weird but it looks like the ribbon is not tied it just goes in and back out again lol if that makes any sense.

Btw the placecards I got have that indented frame like above....so if I can get the ribbon right I'll be so happy!

I think the easiest way to get that look would be to buy 1.5 inch ribbon, cut into sections and tie a regular knot (don't pull too tight) and hot glue to top. That way you could pre-tie all the ribbons, print all the cards and then attach. Breaking up the DIY's into steps keeps you from feeling overwhelmed

i would go with the hot glue gun, you can buy a hole puncher at michaels or ac more, it looks like a rectangle the way it punches but every bow might not tie right, so instead you can just tie the bows before and make them look how you want then just glue them to the card

I am doing this type of knot too. You punch two holes next to each other, then put one end of the ribbon through each hole FROM THE TOP. Then turn the card over, cross each end the ribbon over to the other hole, thread it through, and pull it through to the front of card.

hope this makes sense.
