Ok...spray painting and glitter gluing the pinecones I was going to use is turning out to look like a schoolkid's art project.
So, now I think I'm just going to hot glue these little holly berry thingies I bought to the placecards to make them look holiday-ish.
What are you all doing? Are placecard holders necessary?

why don't you order placecards---this site is great--they have really nice winter/holiday themed stuff & your order comes within a week or less if you rush it---
Hey Jen... I don't think placecards are 'necessary' but they would add a nice touch. The holly berry thingies sound like a nice little touch of holiday cheer... I'm sure that would be fine... I wouldn't go crazy doing the pine cones either!

i've seen it in magazines and I like the idea of the pinecones. But you have so many options if you are looking for holiday theme holders: (winter decorations are out now, do to michaels and get ideas)
All with tags attached... X-mas balls mistle toe Holly berries mini wreathes mini doves drums brass horns mini trees write cards and paint holly leaves and berries in corners
i saw this once (stil have a picture in my craft folder) of a feather tree. Take a foam cone and glue on feathers (they used white). Sprinkle with glitter and then attached the place cards on the tree.
