Placecard idea for the head table?
Instead of having a dais or sweetheart table, FH and I are sitting with our bridal party and their dates. However, we want everyone to sit in assigned seats at this table (i.e., MOH and girls on my side, FH and guys on his)
any cute ideas on the seating cards for this table? I'm trying to think of something other than just leaving their names by their place setting.
Here's a pic of the placecards I'm using:

Re: Placecard idea for the head table?
What about naming the tables after trees? Maple table, Oak table, Pine, etc... PS- the placecards are great. Did you make them?

Re: Placecard idea for the head table?
What about taking one of those leaves and writing right on it with their name? Like in a gold pen or something, since you don't need a ton of room with just a name right?

Re: Placecard idea for the head table?
I found out about these on another site---wedding party wineglass charms-- I think one set has bride, groom, MOH, bestman and then there are other sets where you can write their names on the tags.http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=pd_sim_hd/601-7962206-2612963?asin=B000068YV7

Re: Placecard idea for the head table?
Thanks everyone
wedbabe - I already am naming my tables (Sunflower, Maple, Cranberry) but I was thinking of doing something in addition to that for the head table.
stacey z - thanks - yours are cute too! Yabbobay did something similar, and it's a great idea. I'm just running out of time, so I'm just having the names printed!
Great idea about printing the names on the leaf directly - will have to try that!
dcbride - that is another cute idea that's becoming really popular - I'll have to check out that link!
Matt - thanks! I bought the plain placecards at Lion in the Sun (sooo expensive though
) and then found the individual leaves at Michaels - each one is glued on)Any other suggestions welcome too!

Re: Placecard idea for the head table?
Teri...those are cute placecards. I have the same leaves in my house...got them at Genovesse. I was thinking of doing something similar if my first idea of baby pumpkins as place cards doesn't pan out.Not sure where you get them...maybe a craft store...or if you are crafty they may be easy enogh to make (depends on how many people we are talking) but a small ring or wreath of fall leaves with a tag that has their name. Have it at their place setting at the table???
Or an Apple or Pumpkin or Pear with a tag with their name on it at their place setting?

Re: Placecard idea for the head table?
I saw the mini pumpkin idea in MS's mag with an attached green leaf with the individual's name on it. It looked adorable. Those of you who are looking for the place cards...buy them as computer business cards/badges, etc in a box from Staples (AVERY) or a similar store....I got mine from work but they are less expensive and have the same look. I am going to handwrite the names on mine but you can send them through the computer too if you wanted.

Re: Placecard idea for the head table?
Someone told me to buy my placecards at Staples - I'm sure they are much cheaper, but when I went they only had white, and I needed ivory
The pumpkin idea sounds adorable! I'll have to check out some local stores and see if any are in yet. I guess the tag would just be tied to the stem?

Re: Placecard idea for the head table?
Yes, you can tie it to the stem or use a straight pin to attach a card. Also, I saw online these sticks with a loop at the end made for placecards. I want to see if I can find them in a craft store. I saw people use leaves as the actual place card. It is up to you and you creativity! My friend (who gave me the idea) told me that she saw the pumkins in her grocery store already! She is going to mock on up for me and bring it to me next week. I can't wait because she is my creative side!
I saw a pear one on Martha Stewart's site. I think I have some pictures that I saw online but they are home. I can try to post tonight if I get home early enough!

I saw those mini pumpkins at Waldbaum's this weekend already. I am sure farm stands have them as well.

I love your placecards! That's exactly what I've been looking to do, but I just couldn't picture it and you did it for me, THANKS!! I'd say do tree names.
