While I have been trying to come up with something creative vs. the traditional placecard table my calligrapher suggested a placecard tree. With my fall theme wedding I think it is the perfect idea to hang the placecards from a tree and call it the 'wedding tree', however one small dilemma is where I can find a tree (real vs. fake) and has anyone seen anything like this before? Let me know, thanks as always!

I would actually get more like those branchy things at Michaels. The should have them over by the fake flowers. I would get some of those and stick them into that green foam and put them in a fall type of planter or bucket and then hang the leaf shaped placecards from there. You can cover the foam up with that spanish moss. I know I have seen them in a natural type tone and then in a gold glitter that is really pretty.

You could also buy some curly willow and put that in a planter.

Our family friend did it. It was a DIY project she and her mom did. If you want to see it see member NOVIA. Her mom told me how they did it if you want the basic directions.

I really like the place card tree and we were thinking of doing it but someone mentioned to me that it might not be wise if you are having a larger wedding (Like we are)
They suggested that by everything being on the tree there is no order to the cards and it takes longer for people to find their card and also someone could easy knock / pull it over if their sleeve or hand got caught on a branch, it would be a mess.
Just something to think about.

I don't think I am going to do anything special though...there is so much involved I think that is one of the things I may skip on to save my sanity!

I really like this idea too but too much involved. I am going to do the tent style cards and put fake fall leaves all around them and then put pumkin colored candles in hurricanes around the table also. This is a picture of how I am going to do the placecards

I have been asking around the same thing because I want to do this for my wedding also...i originally wanted to do a sandbox but now that i am not getting married on the beach i am thinking this may be an idea...let me know what you hear on this!! Thanks.
