1 - how much is the average to spend? 2 - what do you girls think about charts, rather than the cards? 3 - If someone writes back that they're coming with a 'guest' - how do you list them on a place card or chart?

Re: Placecards...
I was thinking about doing one of those scrolls too... but my RH doesn't have a standing easel for it, so I might just get a very large picture frame and have them set it up on a table. Not sure if I have enough time though... by the time I finally know how many people are coming (still waiting on 9 RSVPs!!!!) it might be too late.

So many Q!

i ordered my placecards from paper source and they weren't expensive at all. i'm going to print them myself either on the computer or by hand. here's the link:

Re: Placecards...
found it much easier to have something to take away with you to know where your table is. I know half hte time i read something get a drink and come back I forgot what the hell I was doing/thinking.
Cost - depends on how you are printing

Re: Placecards...
I dont really like the idea of a chart...I have visions of 200 people crowding around at the same time, trying to see where they are seated. Plus, if it were me, I'd forget where I'm sitting...I'd much prefer to have something I can carry with me.

actually, at first i thought i would just handwrite them, but then one night i was bored and so i set up a template in ms word to the dimensions of the placecard and then just ran it through the printer...almost like it's an envelope. i haven't done mine yet b/c i'm still waiting on all the rsvp's but the few i tried came out ok!

Re: Placecards...
as far as the chart...i think it also depends on where you are planning to have them at your rh.
for example...for mine...they are normally in the center of the room on this round table...so a chart doesnt really work for me.
there are some creative charts that martha stewart has in her mag...there are super cute (but its more like a board with the cards in them)
if someone wrote and guest....and u have the time to call/email/get in touch with them...i would try to find out that 'guests' name...i would think it would make them feel more welcome at your wedding. but ive been to a bunch where it just says and guest.

Re: Placecards...
I made my place cards out of cardstock and stamped them with a leaf design - cost me probably twenty bucks, now I just have to write all the names on them. I am going to try to find out the 'guest' names but if I can't Im going to just put 'and guest'.
As for the scroll, I think they look really pretty but they tend to be expensive and theres not much you're going to do with it afterwards IMO.
