placecards

this may be a dumb ? but do the place cards go on the guest tables or is there a table made for them because i never see them on the guest tables?

The RH will set up a seperate table for them usually in alphabetical order.

theres usually a table by the entrance so this way guests know what table they are sitting, bc otherwise they dont know what table they are assigned to...If theres no assigned seating then not necessary

Once the guests picks up there place card they will just bring it with them to there table.

some of the guests put it away and keep them, others put it to the side or right by the plate or something

usually the hall has a table set up where people pick up their placecards and hold onto them and/or bring them to their tables

ex: this is the table where my hall puts the placecards (the dining room is to the right)

you can have a table near entrance with the cards and it might be decorated as well and guests take to their seats but not needed if there is not assigned seating. are you doing assigned seating?
