Re: Placecards etiquette
If it's a couple, they are on one card as Mr. & Mrs. or Mr. Smith & Guest if unmarried.

Escort cards are the cards that tell you what table you are at. Place cards tell you your place (or seat) at the table.

Re: Placecards etiquette
If I know the guest's name....I am putting it on my seating card. If not and married I will do the Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. If single and I don't kno the name it will be Mr. J Johnson & Guest

when they reply back they should reply with the name of the guest they are bringing.

im putting the names of the guest even they are just going out, i wont put and guest...Just bc theyre not engaged doesnt mean the other person shouldn't get recognized...my MOH lives with her boyfriend and have been together for years, and if she went to a wedding and they put her as AND GUEST she would flip.
FOr my e-party i made sure to find out the name of the guests people were bringing

You are good.....I only have a few people that put and guest. Some put just a first name...and not a spouse. I guess I will put the same on their place card. I have just more than 2 weeks...well 10 days for the place cards...can't be taking too much time and effort for that.

Re: Placecards etiquette
An escort card is what most people commonly refer to as 'placecard'. They are the ones you put on a table to let guests know where they wll be seated(which table no.). Placecards are put at each place setting to let each guest know which place setting at the table is theirs....many opt not to do placecards and just do escort cards.
