Placecards: How much does it usually cost for calligrahpy?
I have to do my place cards soon, but I dont' have the best handwriting. How much do people usually charge to do these for you? A girl at work does calligraphy, but she's so nice and I want to make sure that I would be paying her a fair rate. I will probably have about 140 guests.

I paid $1.50 each for my placecards to be done by a pro calligrapher
ETA- keep in mind 140 guests = 70-80 place cards, not 140, so its not as scary as you think

we had our placecards done by professional computer calligaphy. we were charged .75 per card and she supplied the place cards. we used follow your heart (liw vendor).

i ordered through whiteaisle.com - I didn't do place cards, but i got my Table cards through them...so i'm not sure w/place cards if they actually do the calligraphy or printing on them...but call & ask! the site is wonderful, they're REALLY reasonably priced & my stuff came SO quick! They have a bunch of designs. here's mine...they were printed but looked JUST like calligraphy..i love them

The places I have priced are $2 per card and I agree with the poster above that it's about half the number of cards for your guests as couples get one card.
