i just dont know what to use?? any ideas - something unusual or interesting i would love. we cant use votives so that is out even though it looks so pretty in pics!

Let's see... - bud vases - flower pots with small plants - for fall: candy apples or small gourds All I can think of for now but, I'll think some more. I hope it helps.

how about- mini flower pot, with hersheys kisses in the pot, a pipcleaner sticking out of it(stem) and the place card(flower) ontop
The first one is the infamous votive placecard holder....you can do a search for LIW bride 'SonicStef' and if you go onto her wedding website she has directions on how to do them.
The second one they used New York Landmarks to name each table.
The thrid one is a placecard with a leaf attached to it which you can actually recreate this idea with many type of craft items they sell at Michaels, etc.

Jen: Do you have a theme? Then it is easier to give you ideas. Also, if you are really pressed for time, at a friend's wedding (I hope I describe this OK) she had like a poster chart of seating instead of placecards. It was one scroll looking thing in a frame with each name alphabetically assigned to a table. I don't know where to find a pic to show you but I am pretty sure that she got them over the net -- if you are interested, please let me know and I will ask her for the info. Good Luck!

I was going to put my beautifully wrapped favors on the card table and attach the names & their table # right on them. That way we know each person that came received a favor as they arrived.
I guess it depends on the size of your favors. We are giving the heart bottle stoppers so they are small enough to fit on a table.

It's me again, I don't know if you want have a Thanksgving theme, but I've also seen small pumkins with name tags on the stems. It looks pretty with a fall centerpiece in the middle (Since your getting married 11/20)
