Places for Alterations

Where can I bring my dress to be altered if I didn't buy it there? I am buying my dress in FL and 'escorting it' (lol) to NY next year and want to get it altered up there.

The store where I ordered my dress from closed before it was time to start doing alterations. I called a few local bridal stores and most would not agree to do it because I hadn't purchased the dress there.

The designer recommended Madame Paulette in the city, so that's who I am using. The prices are comparable to some of the upscale bridal stores.

I went to a place on Wantagh Ave in Wantagh, called the 'Dandy Cleaners' the man Joe there is amazing (AND patient!) and the alterations cost $150 for wedding gowns. You cannot beat that price, at least from what I have seen out there!

I do not know the name of the women I use for alterations but she changed a wedding gown into a poofy dress w.o. a train (not bussling it) for my sweet 16 and did other dress work for me. I love her work. She also did a friend of the families wedding gown. She is a little older italian lady but I think kinda pricy. She is located right off Deer Park Ave.

I dont even know the number if your intrested I will go do a drive by one day before you come to NY
