Places to visit in Italy?

On our Honeymoon we went to Rome, the Amalfi Coast, Florence & Venice. While visiting the Amalfi Coast we stayed in Sorrento, but visited the neighboring cities along the coast: Ravello, Positano & Amalfi, all gorgeous! While in Florence we did some day trips to Pisa & Siena.
I recommend all these places, but I think we spent too many days in Venice...2 is enough, not 3 like we did.

If you have time, take a day trip to the 'The Blue Gratto' (spelling?) Beautiful to see (weather permitting)

I second the 2 days in Venice...Rome OMG soooo much to see.

Have you decided where in Italy you are going? I studied in Italy in college so I went all over. If you are doing Tuscany def go to Siena its gorgeous...also Cinque Terre is 5 oceanside villages beautiful. If you are heading south Taormina, Sicily is a must ...mountains and ocean breathtaking town. The Amalfi Coast is also beautiful. Really the whole country is just gorgeous so it truly depends how long you have and what area you are thinking of. For first time Italy goers usually Florence, Venice, Rome are the big ones and if you do 3 or 4 days at each in both Florence and Rome you can do day trips to the small surronding towns.
