Re: Plain-Jane Wedding Gowns

Maggie Sottero also has some simpler styles, and affordable prices. I'd also look at Alfred Angelo

Re: Plain-Jane Wedding Gowns

I was going to suggest david's bridal too. I had a simple elegant gown, with no beading or lace. I'm not so much into that.

Good luck!

Re: Plain-Jane Wedding Gowns

I love Henry Roth, Marisa, Watters Brides and Stewart Parvin...pictures are in the order of the designer...they all make such beautiful dresses that are striking yet simple.

Re: Plain-Jane Wedding Gowns

Mine was a Paloma Blanca sheath. Very simple; no beading, spaghetti straps that crossed in the back.

Re: Plain-Jane Wedding Gowns

You could try Jessica McClintock and/or there's a designer for David's Bridal whose dresses are very simple, Galina. Good luck!

Re: Plain-Jane Wedding Gowns

I would suggest looking at destination wedding gowns, they are usually less detailed.

Check out Simple Silhouettes . My bridesmaids dresses are from there. I saw some of the bridal gowns whlie I was in the Soho showroom. They are beautiful and the company itself is fantastic to deal with!

Re: Plain-Jane Wedding Gowns

I didn't want anything fancy schmancy and also didn't want to break the bank. I liked a lot of the Jessica McClintock dresses and mine was an Alfred Angelo

Re: Plain-Jane Wedding Gowns

Try the Mori Lee destination wedding collection.
website
There are some beautiful simple gowns on the website.

I have a Maggie Sottero dress that is relatively simple. It is Laurine, 2 straps, and not on the website last I checked. It has some beading, but is on the simple side (not poufy, no lace, etc.)

ETA: to fix link
ETA: The Mori Lee collection is called 'Voyage'

Re: Plain-Jane Wedding Gowns

Yeah, very expensive. I didn't pick them for the bridesmaids - THEY did!
But they are super-nice and, at least the BM dresses can be worn again.

We got dresses in silk shantung, which I think was one of the lesser expensive (like, $275 instead of $350 - big deal

I tried not to look too hard at the wedding dresses because I wanted a simple one as well and ended up with something not-so simple but the ones I looked at were gorgeous!

And the customer service at SS is amazing!!
