my partner told me last summer that 'planning a wedding is similar to planning a funeral'... at the time, it went one ear and out the other... and I kept it moving.. but what do you think?
For me::::: I just notice that changes with my parents and middle sister.. they really dont want to talk about the wedding, they get very blue! esp my dad.. but to me, losting a love one will never compare to planning a wedding... yes your child is now creating a new life but he/she is still around..

Absolutely not-- I planned my sisters funeral--- HUGE difference!!! Funeral you have 1 day to make all decisions. I never though I wouldl have to order extra cards for her funeral blah blah blah.
I mean I can see how someone could some what maybe feel like it is the same if they never actually had to plan a funeral if they are upset w the person someone is marrying. Other than that not at all.
There is nothing fun about planning a funeral.... Though I feel like when I gave a speech at my sisters funeral... might be the most nervous I ever was or will be. Even more so than my wedding day. After her funeral.....this wedding will be a breeze. Going threw that made me get rid of soooooo many people in my life not needed!!

maybe they meant the costs? I mean it cost my gma over $10,000 to plan Gpa's funeral this week. But a funeral to me is a good bye to a precious life and a wedding is the entering a life time of love.

ITA... when my sister passed... my brother went in for my ad picked the caskett and he picked the basic one for 10K.. seriousllly? Luckily my sisters husband is loaded.... so it wasnt a hit on him.. My sisters funeral cost over 30K.... thats insane..... he had to take 3 rooms b/c she as young had alot of friends as wellas mine as my bros... my brother in lkaw always jokes that erin (my sister) would have rather it been to ther wedding..
anyway-- i thinking weddings and funeral have nothinnnnng to do with eachother

Ugggjh, unfortunately I had to to both this year, and it's nothing alike AT ALL.
I can see what they mean if they talk about it bringing out the worst in people though
