FH and I have decided to get married either next month or in March. We want to have about 50 people give or take.
Can anyone recommend a hall in Suffolk county for a Friday night/Saturday afternoon, with option to have ceremony on site and of course the cheaper the better
My family thinks that it can't be done and that I'm crazy.....i'd like to prove them wrong.
TIA!

Re: Planning for a wedding next month-HELP!
It can be done....but at this point, your best bet is calling all the halls in Suffolk county to see what each hall has left date-wise.... if anything at all! You should be able to get a great deal at the halls because it is so last minute - you'll probably be able to take over a cancellation or something.
It's going to require some hardcore planning, but it can be done.
Be careful with Feb - a lot of people go away for the winter break, and Easter is in March this year...some people don't eat meat on Good Friday/Holy Saturday.
Good luck!

Try Brentwood Country Club. Ive never been there but I know they have inexpensive weddings. Or the River View in Sayville

You can do it! I just starting planning for my march wedding 2 weeks ago and we have almost all the big things done. You will def have an advantage by coming in so late. Good luck and fm me if you need any advice.

I think it is smart! :) get all your stress and wedding planning done quick and in one month instead of dragging it out throughout the year.
Good Luck!

IT CAN BE DONE!! i planned my wedding in 3.. but we were all done with the booking in 1month.. even less than that!!
i would try.. brentwood country club. or larkfield manor
just call as many as you want to see if dates are available.. thats what i did!! it was so much easier!
then after the hall , start booking your vendors.! good luck!

It absolutely can be done. Try Thatched Cottage in Centerport, even my hall may be able to do it: Danfords in Pt. Jeff.

A couple of 08 brides have changed or cancelled their weddings...you may want to search for old posts about that (or ask on the 08 board) and see if you could 'use' some of their vendors.
You can def do it!! If you want a reasonable reception hall, definitely try Tall Grass Country Club, or Smithtown Landing. They are totally reasonable, and I know they do weddings for small amounts of people. Good luck!!

Re: Planning for a wedding next month-HELP!
The Thatched Cottage is the most inexpensive place around. We had our wedding booked there but unfortunately my Brother is getting deployed to Iraq so we had to change venues and postpone the wedding. So here's the kicker- A great date is now up for grabs! July 4th 2008- it's an opening for a day wedding and it's comes with a discounted price!
P.S. The Thatched Cottage has a gorgeous Gazebo for holding your ceremony which is nestled right on the beautiful Northport Harbor. Imagine the warm July sun and swans swimming by in the harbor! As an added bonus- Northport is the cutest most picturesque town to drive through so your guests will enjoy the sights on their way to your wedding. Breathtaking gardens during the summer and the main ballroom has a full wall of windows so you can enjoy the view even from the inside. Haggle with them for $65 pp if you are interested in July 4th- it's a Friday!

Re: Planning for a wedding next month-HELP!
the country garden estate at east wind is BEAUTIFUL for a smaller wedding...it's the smallest of the three venues they have and the outdoor area for the ceremony is lovely i'd also look into the meadow club - they have great prices also & its very pretty.
