Where do you want the reception? Any ideas as to decor, style, band/dj, etc so we can help out with some suggestions?? FYI - the boards are MUCH busier during the week so if you dont get a lot of response this weekend, you should bump this post on Monday afternoon.

So you need a florist, photographer/videographer, limos, ceremony (unless its at CLM), and other small things. First of all, I would absolutely get suggestions about CLM from brides on here...a lot of us have experienced the service, food, etc from there (mostly because the WOTY was held there today). Personally, I don't have a ton of suggestions about vendors except for RH's because I visited a TON but havent yet started my vendor searches (that begins next week for me too). I have heard good things about Velvet Studios, Duet Photo, and Patken all for photo/video. I would ask others about flowers and limos and read the reviews to find out some more about peoples experiences with different vendors. Good Luck, Congrats and Welcome!!

Ok so then what do you need suggestions about? It all depends on what you are looking for and also budget...once you give a little bit more info then you will get alot more tips

Hmm 1,700 miles huh? I would say check out the brides review board. You might see some good ideas and some vendors that are with in your budget. If you are open about your budget, then I am sure alot of people will forum mail you about their vendors. unfortuantey I have just started planning

Well first you should find out how much the reception will cost you and then its easy to budget for everything else...Once you estimate the number of guests you have, find a place you want to have it at and see how much it costs per person then you can see how much the reception will cost...After that whatever is left over you have to divide among many different things obviously...figure what is important for you, for example some people will budget the most for a photographer or their dress, it all depends. And then figure out what you will need to save money on and how much you are able to even spend on.

Receptions can get pretty expensive, so depending on how big your wedding is then you'll need to shop around for vendors for good prices...Some peoples receptions are 20,000's-30,000's and even higher.

I was told to multiply the cost of the RH times 2 to get your total budget?

I think we wont need THAT much, but I think its a pretty good gauge...

I agree. My RH is almost 25,000 so far. Thats with our MIn amount of people. If we have more it's going to definetly be alot more then. So it depends on how many people you are having. and flowers? no flowers? Limos? Ceremony? All of this adds up.

You know what i haven't heard that but it sounds about right, it might be a little less if people budget and shop around and stuff but that is close

I'll be honest its hard planning a long distance wedding without a wedding planner...Others just have their close family or friends help them out with things, go get info for you, go look at vendors, go make payments and all that.

Thats a lot of appointments to go to in one weekend. Make sure they are near each other because driving all over can be exhausting! If you let us know who you are meeting with we may be able to give recommendations to cut the list down. Congrats and Good Luck!
