Re: Planting Fields Arboretum???
I plan on calling tomorrow, I'll update the post then. I came across it on the internet today but I really want to see real pictures of real weddings before I decide.

They have some samples on their site: http://www.plantingfields.org/facolities/Wedding_flash.htm
I'm getting pics done there, it's really a lovely place and my church is right down the road.

Re: Planting Fields Arboretum???
We love love love Planting Fields - but I feel that whether or not you take pictures there or at OWG should depend on the time of year that you're getting married. I wouldn't recommend PFA for fall or winter brides.
On 10/29 we went to Old Westbury Gardens to get an idea of what the place would look like on our wedding day. We took an insane amount of pictures because we thought everything was gorgeous! That place is insane - it totally looks incredible if you're going for the whole fall look.
On 10/30 we went to Planting Fields, and although we love it and it's our 'special place,' we didn't think it photographed as well as OWG. (Although bella11's photos are gorgeous!) There aren't fields or trails with tons of leaves on the ground, there isn't a lake like at OWG, and the inside greenhouses aren't full of any color.
It's all about personal preference, budget, personal attachment (if any) to one or the other of the two, time - although there is a lot of walking around the park itself, OWG is pretty close to the LIE; PFA is quite a drive north from 25 and further from the LIE.
Any questions, just ask me, as we have researched this all fall. Both are beautiful, so I would recommend a trip to both armed with a camera so you could see which looks better in photos, and which 'fits' you and your wedding better.

My fiancee wants to take pics at the Arboretum. I don't know much about it either. Aren't there two locations on LI? Does anyone know where they are??

Well said.
And I like PFA for that reason... I like the neutral colors and romanesque architecture...
See..I love OWG..but I thought it would be too much color for my pics.
You are right on...its all about personal preference
