Platinum ering is all scratched up!!

I've only had it for a month and I have a huge scratch in it. Does anyone know how much it costs to get it buffed out?

Should cost nothing if you go to the jewler you got it from. Even one you didn't shouldn't charge to just buff it for you.

I would wait though, since it's platinum it's going to keep scratching....but after a while it almosts buffs itself!

I got it done about a week before my wedding just so it would be shiny for that day.

Aaahh, the first scratch...I was MISERABLE when I got my first scratch. It was more of a scuff. I've been engaged for a little over a year now and all of the scratches kind of just blend at this point...doesn't look so bad. There will be more scratches to come. I would wait if I were you.

My white gold ering is the same way. It's like I obsess over it! I'm going to take it back where I got it and get it polished soon.

they all scratch, but at least its better than gold.... my aunt has a gold e-ring, after 10 years hers is all scratched up, and it actually dented you can tell she lost gold..

I am going to get my platinum polished a couple of days before my wedding but for now my FH buffs it with a polishing cloth that came with the ring cleaning solution. At least I know that I am not actually losing metal but FH swears if he buffs it too much the band is going to get thin and break

I have the same problem - - I wanted a platinum e-ring b/c I thought it was more durable - I guess I was wrong - why does it cost so much more??

James Joseph Jewelers in South Shore Mall charges $5 - $15 depending on the jewlery. They usually steam clean for free, so if you're ever in there, always make a point to have your ring steam cleaned.

Plantinum is more durable. When you scratch it you are not actually losing metal. Platinum was always more expensive than gold or white gold but I think it is more expensive these days b/c of demand.

Mine did too. Especially since i have a solitaire! But my FH has a Dremel and knows how to polish it....SO i make him do it monthly.
BUT
go to a jeweler and ask for it to be buffed. I used to go to Commack Jewelers they do it for free.
