Platinum Wedding vs. Bridezillla

Ok to start I have too much time on my hands this evening. FH is playing cards with the fellas and I am watching my shows.

I am a fan of these shows and have been even b4 being engaged. This is the first season I have watched Bridezillas and with each bride I have seen have felt what the hell happened?! Are they running out of gals for the show? As Melisaa (MJDOC) has kept us updated with the Bridezilla logs LoL I have noticed this show is going down the toilet.!

Here comes the reading too much into it part...

FH and I are paying for most of our wedding, my parents have been SO helpful but still it is very expensive and causes major stress and at times can bring out the worst in me. After watching this evening platinum weddings I have to say...
Wedding planning is stressful but when someone is giving you a limit of 650K! It is hard to really feel fed up and upset and be a beast about the planning! Come on now! Even when keeping a wedding small and intimate it is still a lot or money and stress. I think it is a bit mean to call a gal a bridezilla when wedding planning gets crazy and the bills pile up. Than you show happy Platinum Weddings where the bride is so happy and stress free (god bless) BUT does not have the stress of writing checks out to venors and beign given a max of 650,000!!!!!!!!!

Vent over
thank u!

I'm very diasapointed in Bridezillas this season and they are truly scraping the bottom of the barrel now w/ the trash they are putting on! And Platinum Weddings- don't even get me started!!!

Has anyone noticed that the stuff they're doing on Platinum weddings isn't really all that...special?

The couple from Texas for example - tall pink mixed flower centerpieces. Mostly roses. It's not exactly groundbreaking.
Or a chocolate fountain (who doesn't have one? You can get one a Walmart for $20 for your backyard bbq. We had one at Christmas - it it got knocked over and made a huge mess 5 minutes before my in-laws were supposed to arrive - the first time we all met.)
And the cigar rolling. It's a great idea, but not exactly new anymore, ya know?

So what makes it platinum? The fact that they paid more for the same stuff?

I was thinking that last night too!! The weddings (on Platinum weddings) were all very beautiful but not like last season with the OMG effect!
These broads are so happy though b/c they are getting blinged up jeweles and have some1 paying for the whole wedding and giving a ridiculous amount!

i think in other areas of the country, the south, the midwest, etc. a lot of things we do at our weddings is unheard, so having huge centerpieces, mood lighting, cigar rolling, etc. is a BIG deal. many weddings outside NY are not thast fancy... buffet style and cake in the church hall.

Thank goodness I am not the only one who thinks that these shows are nuts. Bridezilla should be renamed Trashzilla. It used to be a kinda good show. There was nuttiness but still some sentiment behind it. Now it's just trash. They now even get a honeymoon out of the deal. Last nights was amazing how the girl changed her venue a week before the wedding??? What happened to contracts????
Platinum is whatever to me. I find it just as blah as watching a celebrity wedding. I will never have the 650k budget so I don't fret on it.
