I got him 2 rings

titanium - for work (he's a cabinet maker)
white gold - for everything else

he eventually chose white - but the jeweler suggested paladium originally (makes you think of the ol club in the city lol)

white gold - FH would have gotten sterling silver and not known the difference

My FH's ring will be yellow gold. I think it looks better on the skin IMHO.

My FH diva'ed out and wanted platinum . I couldn't say anything ,since my band is all diamonds

Both mine and fh's rings are white gold - based upon my e-ring being white gold - it is an antique made by his great uncle for his grandfather many years ago ..plastinum looks the same and costs a lot more
